MailerLite Automations

MailerLite Actions in Zapify: Every Action Explained

MailerLite is where many site owners keep their newsletter. Zapify PRO connects to it with an API key and gives you nine actions, so events on your site — a registration, a purchase, a finished course, a form — can update MailerLite without anyone exporting a file. This page explains each action, what it needs, and the things worth knowing before you build.

PRO feature

MailerLite is a Zapify PRO integration and needs a Connection under Settings → Connections. MailerLite has no triggers in Zapify; use any trigger to start an automation and a MailerLite action to react.

Set up the connection once

  1. Go to Settings → Connections and click Add New.
  2. Choose MailerLite and paste in your API key, created in MailerLite under Integrations → API.
  3. Click Test. Zapify answers MailerLite accepted the credentials. or MailerLite refused the credentials.
  4. Save.

Zapify uses MailerLite's current API. MailerLite Classic is not supported. See Connections for how this screen works generally.

Every action also has a Connection field, which is where you pick the MailerLite connection from above.

Things worth knowing

One action, any email. There is no separate "user" and "subscriber" version. Put an email in the Email address field, or insert a token such as the user's email, and the action works on that address.

Groups are added to, never replaced. Adding a subscriber to a group never removes them from another. To move somebody, add them to the new group and remove them from the old one.

Status is protected. Add or update a subscriber leaves an existing subscriber's status alone when Status is Active, so somebody who unsubscribed is not quietly re-subscribed. Tick Resubscribe only where you have their fresh consent. A new subscriber gets your MailerLite account's own default, including its double opt-in setting.

Empty custom fields are skipped. A token that resolved to nothing never blanks a field MailerLite already holds. A custom field has to exist in MailerLite first, under Subscribers → Fields.

Pick a group, or use a token. The Group field lists the groups in the connection's MailerLite account. It also accepts a Group ID token, such as the one Create a group makes available, so one automation can create a group and then use it.

Not found is sometimes fine. Delete a subscriber skips an address that is not there. Actions that need the subscriber to exist, such as Remove a subscriber from a group, fail and say so.

Failures say why. MailerLite's own message is shown in Zapify → Logs, such as The email must be a valid email address. A busy or briefly unavailable MailerLite is reported as a temporary failure that can be retried; a problem with your data is reported straight away.

Ready-made guides

Conclusion

MailerLite's nine actions cover the everyday jobs: getting people in, sorting them into groups, keeping their details current, and letting them leave. Set up one connection, pick the action that matches the job, and use any Zapify trigger to start it. To see what else Zapify can watch for, read Triggers and actions.

FAQs

Is this free in Zapify?

No. MailerLite is part of Zapify PRO and needs an active licence and a Connection. The triggers you pair it with, such as a user registering or a form being submitted, are mostly free.

Does Zapify have MailerLite triggers?

Not yet. Use any trigger from WordPress, WooCommerce, your forms or your courses to start an automation, and a MailerLite action to react.

Can I use more than one MailerLite account?

Yes. Create one connection per account, give each a distinct name, and pick the right one in each action.

Why is my new group or custom field not in the dropdown?

Zapify keeps the groups and fields it reads from MailerLite for a minute, so the builder does not call MailerLite on every dropdown. Wait a moment and reopen the field. If the dropdown stays empty, use Test on the connection, because an unreachable MailerLite gives an empty list.

Do I need to write any code?

No. The API key is the only thing you copy from outside Zapify.
