Brevo Automations
How to Add a New WordPress User to Brevo When They Register
Want every new account on your site to appear in Brevo without exporting a CSV? Zapify does this with the free A user registers trigger and the Create or update a contact action. Brevo is a Zapify PRO integration.
What this automation does
The automation is one trigger plus one action:
- Trigger: A user registers (
WP_USER_REGISTERS, WordPress) - Action: Create or update a contact (
BREVO_UPSERT_CONTACT, Brevo)
Whenever a new account is created, Zapify adds that person to Brevo with the attributes and lists you choose, or updates their contact if they are already there.
Before you start
- A Brevo account (formerly Sendinblue).
- A Brevo API key — a v3 key from SMTP & API → API keys in your Brevo account, not an SMTP key. Brevo's own page for it is here.
- A list in Brevo for new users.
PRO feature
Brevo is a Zapify PRO integration and needs a Connection under Settings → Connections. The A user registers trigger used here is free.
How to build the automation
Step 1: Connect Brevo
- Go to Settings → Connections and click Add New.

- Choose Brevo, paste in your API key, and name the connection something like Marketing Brevo.

- Click Test. Zapify asks Brevo whose account the key belongs to and answers with something like Connected to Brevo as Your Company (you@example.com), which catches a key pasted from the wrong account.
- Save.
See Connections for how this screen works generally.
Step 2: Create a new automation
- In the WordPress admin, go to Zapify → Automations.
- Click Add New to open the builder.
- Name it clearly, such as Add new users to Brevo.

Step 3: Add the "A user registers" trigger
- Click Add Trigger.

- Choose WordPress as the app.

- Select A user registers.

Step 4: Add the "Create or update a contact" action
- Click Add Action.

- Choose Brevo as the app.

- Select Create or update a contact.

Step 5: Configure the action
| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Yes | The Brevo connection from Step 1. |
| Email address | Yes | Insert the trigger's User email token. |
| Attributes | No | Add one row per attribute. Pick the Attribute from your Brevo account, such as FIRSTNAME, and give its Value, such as the First name token. Add LASTNAME the same way. |
| Lists | No | One or more Brevo lists the contact should join. |
| Update the contact if it already exists | No | On by default. Turn it off and an existing contact is reported as a failure instead of being changed. |
| Use double opt-in | No | Leave off here. See the double opt-in guide if you need consent first. |
Step 6: Set the steps Live and save
Each trigger and action has its own Live / Off / Draft switch. A new automation starts as a Draft and does nothing until its steps are Live.
- Set the trigger and every action to Live.
- Click Save.

Step 7: Test it
Register a test account with an address you control. Check the contact in Brevo within a minute, or open Zapify → Logs, which shows …was added to Brevo or …was updated in Brevo.
Tokens you can use
| Token | What it holds |
|---|---|
| User email / Username / Display name / First name / Last name | Details of the new account, from the trigger. |
| Registration date | When they registered. |
The action makes two tokens available to later actions: Brevo contact ID and Confirmation email sent, which is no here because the contact was added directly.
Conclusion
With the free A user registers trigger and the Create or update a contact action, new users flow into Brevo on their own. To email them as well, see sending a Brevo transactional email when a user registers.
FAQs
Is this free in Zapify?
The trigger is free. The Brevo action is part of the PRO integration and needs an active Zapify PRO licence and a Connection.
Do I need Brevo's consent step?
Adding a contact directly does not ask for consent. If you need it, use double opt-in, as in this guide.
What if they are already in Brevo?
With Update the contact if it already exists on, which is the default, Zapify updates their attributes and lists instead of failing.
Which attributes can I fill in?
Any attribute your Brevo account has, such as FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME and SMS. The Attribute dropdown lists them from your account, so you pick them rather than type them. A row with no value is skipped.
Why is my new list, attribute or template not in the dropdown?
Zapify keeps the lists, attributes and templates it reads from Brevo for ten minutes, so the builder does not call Brevo on every dropdown. Wait a few minutes and reopen the field. If the dropdown stays empty, use Test on the connection, because an unreachable Brevo gives an empty list.
Do I need to write any code?
No. The API key is the only thing you copy from outside Zapify.
