LifterLMS Automations

Send an Email When a Student Fails a LifterLMS Quiz

A failed quiz can be a useful intervention point. Instead of waiting for a student to disengage, send guidance, a study resource, or a reminder to try again as soon as the attempt is recorded. Zapify does this with A user completes a quiz and Result = Failed.

What this automation does

The automation is one trigger plus one action:

  • Trigger: A user completes a quiz (LIFTERLMS_QUIZ_COMPLETED) with Result = Failed
  • Action: Send an email (WP_SEND_EMAIL)

The same quiz trigger can handle all outcomes. Selecting Failed filters the automation so passing attempts do not send this message.

Before you start

  • LifterLMS must be installed and active.
  • Zapify PRO must be active, since LifterLMS is a PRO integration.
  • The quiz must already exist and have a passing requirement so LifterLMS can determine the outcome.

PRO feature

LifterLMS (lifterlms) is a Zapify PRO integration. The LifterLMS trigger and action used in this automation require an active PRO licence.

FAQs

Will a passed quiz trigger this automation?

No. With Result = Failed, only failed attempts match.

Can I use the student's grade in the message?

Yes. Use the Grade percentage token.

Can I create both pass and fail emails?

Yes. Create two automations using the same quiz trigger: one with Result = Passed and another with Result = Failed.

Is there a separate “quiz failed” trigger?

No. The implementation uses one quiz-completion trigger and filters it using the Result field.

Do I need to write any code?

No. Everything is configured in the Zapify visual builder.
