How to Create a ClickUp Task When a Gravity Forms Form Is Submitted

A submitted request is only useful if somebody owns it. Zapify can turn a Gravity Forms entry into a ClickUp task straight away, with the A form is submitted trigger and the Create a task action. The trigger is free; ClickUp is Zapify PRO.

What this automation does

The automation is one trigger plus one action:

  • Trigger: A form is submitted (GRAVITYFORMS_FORM_SUBMITTED, Gravity Forms)
  • Action: Create a task (CLICKUP_CREATE_TASK, ClickUp)

When someone submits the form you choose, Zapify creates a task in your ClickUp list with the submission in its description.

Before you start

  • Gravity Forms installed and active, with a published form.
  • A ClickUp personal API token, from Settings → Apps — see ClickUp's authentication docs.
  • The List ID of the list new tasks should land in — the number in the list's URL.

PRO feature

ClickUp is a Zapify PRO integration and needs a Connection under Settings → Connections. The Gravity Forms trigger is free.

How to build the automation

Step 1: Connect ClickUp

  1. Go to Settings → Connections and click Add New.

Open the Connections tab

  1. Choose ClickUp, paste in your API token, and name the connection something like Support ClickUp.

  2. Click Save.

Step 7: Test it

Conclusion

With the A form is submitted trigger and the Create a task action, every request gets an owner and a place in your workflow. To create a task from a shop event instead, see creating a ClickUp task when an order status changes.

FAQs

Is this free in Zapify?

The Gravity Forms trigger is free. The ClickUp action needs an active Zapify PRO licence and a Connection.

Where do I find the List ID?

It is the number in the list's URL in ClickUp.

Can I set an assignee or due date?

This action sets the list, name, description and priority. To assign people, use ClickUp's own automations on the list.

Why did the task not appear?

Open Zapify → Logs and check the HTTP status ClickUp returned. A wrong List ID or token is the usual cause.

Do I need to write any code?

No. The token is the only thing you copy from outside Zapify.
