Send an Email When a Student Completes a LifterLMS Section

You want to congratulate students after a group of lessons, deliver a section-specific resource, or notify an instructor when a learning milestone is reached. Zapify can do this with the A user completes a section trigger and the Send an email action.

What this automation does

The automation is one trigger plus one action:

• Trigger: A user completes a section (LIFTERLMS_SECTION_COMPLETED)
• Action: Send an email (WP_SEND_EMAIL)

When a student completes the section you choose, Zapify fills the email with details about that section and sends it.

LifterLMS fires its lifterlms_section_completed event when the learner reaches section completion, so the automation reacts to the same completion event used by LifterLMS.

Before you start

• LifterLMS must be installed and active.
• Zapify PRO must be active, since LifterLMS is a PRO integration.
• The section you want to watch must already exist and contain the lessons that make up the section.

How to build the automation

Step 1: Create a new automation

1. In the WordPress admin, go to Zapify → Automations.
2. Click Add New to open the builder.
3. Give the automation a clear name, such as Email student after section completion.

Step 2: Add the "A user completes a section" trigger

1. Click Add Trigger.

2. Choose LifterLMS as the app.

3. Select the trigger A user completes a section.

4. Configure the trigger:

If the automation is intended for one milestone, select that section. Use Any section only when the same message should be sent after every completed section.

Step 3: Add the "Send an email" action

1. Click Add Action.

2. Choose WordPress as the app.

3. Select the action Send an email.

Step 4: Configure the email

Configure the email for the student or another recipient.

• To: the student, or another address/token you want to notify
• Subject: Great work — you completed {{trigger:SECTION_TITLE}}
• Body: Thank the student for completing the section and include the Section title or Section URL token when useful.
• Format: HTML or Plain text, depending on your message.
• Cc / Bcc / From / Reply to: optional

The existing Send an email action screenshots can be reused because the action itself has not changed.

Step 5: Set the steps Live and save

1. Set both the trigger and the action to Live.
2. Click Save.

Section tokens you can use

Token	What it holds
Section ID	The numeric ID of the completed section.
Section title	The section's name.
Section URL	The permalink to the section.

How to test it

1. Log in as a test student.
2. Complete all required lessons in the selected section so LifterLMS records the section as complete.
3. Check the recipient inbox for the email.
4. If nothing arrives, open Zapify → Logs and confirm whether the trigger matched the selected section.
