How to Add a New WordPress User to FluentCRM
Running FluentCRM on the same site and want every new WordPress account to become a contact there automatically? Zapify does this with the free A user registers trigger and the Add or update a contact action. FluentCRM is a Zapify PRO integration.
What this automation does
The automation is one trigger plus one action:
- Trigger: A user registers (
WP_USER_REGISTERED, WordPress) - Action: Add or update a contact (
FLUENTCRM_ADD_CONTACT, FluentCRM)
Whenever a new account is created, Zapify creates a matching contact in FluentCRM — or updates the existing one if that email is already there.
PRO feature
This action is part of Zapify PRO.
No Connection needed
Unlike Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit, ClickUp, Slack, and Google Sheets, FluentCRM runs on your own site rather than somebody else's server. There's no API key to paste and nothing to set up under Settings → Connections — the action just needs FluentCRM installed and active.
Before you start
- FluentCRM installed and active.
How to build the automation
Step 1: Create a new automation
- In the WordPress admin, go to Zapify → Automations.
- Click Add New to open the builder.
- Name it clearly, such as Add new users to FluentCRM.

Step 2: Add the "A user registers" trigger
- Click Add Trigger.

- Choose WordPress as the app.

- Select A user registers.

Step 3: Add the "Add or update a contact" action
- Click Add Action.

- Choose FluentCRM as the app.

- Select Add or update a contact.

Step 4: Configure the action
| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Yes | Insert the trigger's User email token. | |
| First name / Last name | No | Insert the trigger's name tokens if you have them. |
| Tags | No | Comma-separated tag IDs, not names — find a tag's ID in FluentCRM's own interface. |
| Lists | No | Comma-separated list IDs. |
| Mark as subscribed | No | Off by default, which adds the contact as Pending. Only tick this where you have actual consent to email them — adding people as subscribed without it is what gets a sending domain blocked. |
Step 5: Set the steps Live and save
- Set both the trigger and the action to Live.
- Click Save.

Step 6: Test it
Register a test account. Check FluentCRM's contact list for the new entry, or open Zapify → Logs to confirm the run.
Tokens you can use
The A user registers trigger exposes these tokens for the action's fields:
| Token | Value |
|---|---|
| User email | The new account's email address. |
| Display name / First name / Last name | Name parts, if set. |
| Username | The login name. |
Conclusion
With the free A user registers trigger and the Add or update a contact action, Zapify keeps FluentCRM's contact list current the moment somebody creates an account — with no external service or API key involved. Combine it with a welcome email or add a role to the new user in the same automation.
FAQs
Is this free in Zapify?
The trigger is free. Add or update a contact is part of the FluentCRM PRO integration and needs an active Zapify PRO licence.
Do I need to set up a Connection for this?
No. FluentCRM runs on the same site as Zapify, so the action talks to it directly — there's nothing to paste under Settings → Connections.
What happens if the person already has a FluentCRM contact?
The action updates the existing contact that matches the email rather than creating a duplicate.
Should I tick "Mark as subscribed"?
Only if registering counts as consent to email them under your list's own rules — for example, a clear opt-in checkbox at registration. Otherwise leave it off; the contact is added as Pending, keeping your list compliant.
Can I add tags or lists automatically?
Yes, using the Tags and Lists fields — both take comma-separated numeric IDs, found in FluentCRM's own interface.
Do I need to write any code?
No. Every field is configured visually in the Zapify builder.
