How to Add a WooCommerce Customer to FluentCRM When a Product Is Purchased

FluentCRM lives on your own site, so a purchase can put a customer straight into a segment with no external service in between. Zapify does it with the A product is purchased trigger and the Add or update a contact action. The trigger is free; FluentCRM is Zapify PRO.

What this automation does

The automation is one trigger plus one action:

  • Trigger: A product is purchased (WC_PRODUCT_PURCHASED, WooCommerce)
  • Action: Add or update a contact (FLUENTCRM_ADD_CONTACT, FluentCRM)

When the chosen product is bought, Zapify adds the buyer to FluentCRM with the tags and lists you set, or updates their contact if they already exist.

Before you start

  • WooCommerce and FluentCRM installed and active.
  • The IDs of the FluentCRM tags and lists you want to apply. The action takes IDs, not names.

PRO feature

FluentCRM is a Zapify PRO integration and needs an active Zapify PRO licence. The WooCommerce trigger is free.

No Connection needed

FluentCRM runs on your own site rather than somebody else's server. There is no API key to paste and nothing to set up under Settings → Connections.

How to build the automation

Step 1: Create a new automation

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Zapify → Automations.
  2. Click Add New to open the builder.
  3. Name it clearly, such as Add buyers to FluentCRM.

Step 4: Configure the action

Field Required What it does
Email Yes Insert the trigger's Billing email token.
First name / Last name No Insert the Billing first name and Billing last name tokens.
Tags No Comma-separated tag IDs, such as 4,9. Find a tag's ID in FluentCRM's own interface.
Lists No Comma-separated list IDs.
Mark as subscribed No Off by default, which adds the contact as Pending. Tick it only where you have consent to email them.

Step 5: Set the steps Live and save

Each trigger and action has its own Live / Off / Draft switch. A new automation starts as a Draft and does nothing until its steps are Live.

  1. Set the trigger and every action to Live.
  2. Click Save.

Set the automation live

Step 6: Test it

Place a test order for the product. Open FluentCRM → Contacts and check the contact, its tags and its lists. Zapify → Logs shows the result.

Tokens you can use

Token What it holds
Billing email / Billing first name / Billing last name / Billing phone The customer's details from the order.
Product names / Product IDs What was bought.
Order ID / Order number / Order total / Order currency / Order date The order itself.

Conclusion

With the A product is purchased trigger and the Add or update a contact action, buyers land in the right FluentCRM segment the moment they pay. To start a different journey for new accounts, see adding a new user to FluentCRM.

FAQs

Is this free in Zapify?

The WooCommerce trigger is free. The FluentCRM action needs an active Zapify PRO licence.

Do I need a Connection?

No. FluentCRM runs on your own site, so nothing needs connecting.

Should I tick Mark as subscribed?

Only if the customer has agreed to marketing email. Adding people as subscribed without consent is what gets a sending domain blocked.

Why were no tags applied?

The field wants numeric tag IDs, not names. Check the IDs in FluentCRM.

Do I need to write any code?

No. Everything is configured in the Zapify visual builder.
