Share Short Links on Social Media Platforms

Once you've created a short link, the next step is usually to share it — and copying the URL into each platform by hand is tedious. URL Shortify PRO adds a social share widget to the links dashboard, so you can post any short link to Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Telegram, VK, email or Hacker News in one click, or grab a QR code for it. This is a PRO feature.

PRO feature

The social share widget is available in URL Shortify PRO. The free version lets you copy a short link from the Links page, but the one-click share buttons and QR code come with PRO.

Which platforms you can share to

The share widget covers the platforms people most often use to distribute links:

Channel What it does
Facebook Opens a Facebook share dialog pre-filled with the short link
X (Twitter) Opens a post composer with the short link
WhatsApp Shares the link via WhatsApp web or mobile
LinkedIn Opens a LinkedIn share dialog
Pinterest Pins the link
Telegram Shares the link to a Telegram chat
VK Shares the link on VKontakte
Email Opens a pre-filled email with the short link
Hacker News Submits the link to Hacker News
QR code Generates a QR code for the short link (PNG or SVG)

Where to find the share widget

The social share options appear in three places inside URL Shortify:

  • The URL Shortify → Links page
  • The Edit link screen
  • The Link statistics page

Social Sharing Locations

Open the share widget for a link, choose a channel, and URL Shortify opens that platform's share dialog with the short URL already filled in. For the QR code option, URL Shortify generates a scannable code you can download.

Conclusion

The social share widget turns your links dashboard into a launch point: create a short link, then push it straight to any major platform without leaving URL Shortify. It's part of URL Shortify PRO, alongside the QR Code generator. To build the links you'll share, start with How to Create a Short Link.

FAQs

URL Shortify PRO's share widget covers Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Telegram, VK, email and Hacker News, and it can also generate a QR code for the link. Each button opens that platform's own share dialog with your short URL pre-filled, so you don't copy and paste anything.

Is social sharing available in the free version?

No. The one-click social share buttons are part of URL Shortify PRO. In the free version you can still copy any short link from the Links page and paste it wherever you like — you just don't get the built-in share buttons or the QR code option.

Where do the share buttons appear?

The share widget is available in three places: the URL Shortify → Links page, the Edit link screen, and the Link statistics page. Open it for any link, pick a channel, and URL Shortify launches that platform's share dialog with the short URL already inserted.

Yes, in URL Shortify PRO. The share widget includes a QR code option that generates a scannable code for the short link, available as PNG or SVG. See the QR Code guide for the full details on generating and downloading codes.
