Magic Link for WPForms
Magic Link can be used in WPForms notification emails. You first enable the WPForms integration, select which forms are allowed to use the feature, and then place {magic-link} in a notification.
PRO feature
This integration is part of Magic Link PRO. The integration stays inactive unless the corresponding third-party plugin is installed and detected.
What the integration does
The integration adds Magic Link to the supported third-party email or activity flow without replacing the plugin's normal behavior.

Enable the integration
- Make sure the form builder and Magic Link PRO are installed and active.
- Go to Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.
- Find the integration and turn it on.
- Select the forms that are allowed to use Magic Link.
- Save the settings.
The form-selection step matters: enabling the integration does not automatically change every form.
You can also use the Allow {magic-link} in notifications control inside supported form-builder settings. If the master integration switch is off, the form-level setting does not send Magic Links.
Add the Magic Link to a notification
- Open the selected form.
- Edit the notification that should contain the login link.
- Place
{magic-link}where you want the passwordless login URL to appear. - Save the notification.
- Submit the form using an email address belonging to an existing WordPress user.
- Open the notification email and click the Magic Link.
Only an existing WordPress account can use the generated login link.
What happens if the tag is missing?
If the notification does not contain {magic-link}, enabling the integration does not add a login link by itself. Your existing notification continues to behave normally.
Important details
- The user must have a WordPress account when the integration expects an existing recipient.
- Magic Link's normal expiry and usage rules still apply.
- The third-party plugin continues to control when its own emails or events are generated.
- Turning the integration off stops Magic Link from modifying the supported flow; it does not disable WPForms.
Troubleshooting
The integration is not listed. Confirm WPForms is installed and active, then reload Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.
The email does not contain a Magic Link. For form-builder integrations, confirm the form is selected and {magic-link} is present in the notification. For automatic integrations, confirm you triggered a supported notification.
The link does not log the user in. Check that the recipient is a WordPress user and that the link has not expired or reached its usage limit. The Audit Log can help identify what happened.
Conclusion
The WPForms integration adds passwordless access without replacing the normal WPForms workflow. Enable it under Magic Link → Settings → Integrations, test the supported email or event, and keep your normal Magic Link expiry and security settings in place.
FAQs
Is the WPForms integration free?
No. The WPForms integration requires Magic Link PRO.
Does enabling the integration change all WPForms emails?
No. Magic Link only changes the supported email or event paths implemented by the integration. For form builders, you also choose which forms may use the {magic-link} tag.
Can I turn the integration off later?
Yes. Disable it under Magic Link → Settings → Integrations. Your WPForms plugin remains active.
Does the Magic Link change the user's password?
No. A Magic Link provides passwordless authentication for the supported flow; it does not reset or replace the user's WordPress password.
