How Can I Add Magic Links To My Store, CRM, And Forum Emails?

These are Pro features. Magic Link connects to Easy Digital Downloads, WooCommerce Subscriptions, FluentCRM, WP Fusion, and bbPress. Each one detects its plugin and starts working on its own.
Why This Helps
Every one of these plugins sends email that ends with an implied "…now log in". That last step is where people drop out.
- A buyer wants their download, not a login form. Someone who has just paid for a file expects to receive it. Asking for a password between payment and delivery is the fastest way to turn a sale into a support ticket.
- Renewal notices only work if they are easy to act on. A subscriber reading "your subscription renews in 3 days" on a phone will not go hunting for a password to check the details. They will close the email and deal with it later, which often means when it fails.
- A forum reply is worth answering now. Someone notified of a reply is interested at that moment. Make them log in and the moment passes.
- Your CRM should show what actually happened. Knowing that a contact was emailed is useful. Knowing they opened the link and signed in is much more useful.

How To Turn Them On
There is no setting to enable:
- Make sure Magic Link Pro is active.
- Make sure the other plugin is active.
Each integration checks for its plugin and stays completely inactive if it is not there. You can run all five, or none, with no effect on the rest of your site.
Using The WooCommerce Subscriptions Merge Tag
The WooCommerce Subscriptions integration works on the {magic_link} placeholder. Add {magic_link} to a subscription email template and it is replaced with a working login link for that customer.
If you do not add the placeholder, subscription emails are left exactly as they are. This is deliberate — it means the integration never changes an email you did not ask it to change.
What Gets Recorded In Your CRM
The FluentCRM and WP Fusion integrations report magic link activity — links generated, sent, opened, and used — against the matching contact.
This is genuinely useful for judging your own emails. If links are generated and sent but rarely opened, the problem is your subject line or your deliverability, not your login flow. If they are opened but not used, something is going wrong after the click.
How To Check It Is Working
- Create a test account with an email address you can read.
- Trigger the relevant email — a test purchase, a renewal notice, or a forum reply.
- Open the message and click the link in a private or incognito window.
- You should arrive already signed in.
For FluentCRM and WP Fusion, generate a link for a contact you can look up, then open that contact and check the timeline for the note.
If Something Is Not Working
- Both plugins must be active. This is the first thing to check.
- For WooCommerce Subscriptions, the placeholder must be present. No
{magic_link}in the template means no link in the email. - Check who really sends the email. If you have replaced store or forum emails with a marketing tool, the integration never sees them. Use Insert a Magic Link into your emails instead.
- Always test in a private window. Otherwise your own session makes every link look fine.
