Using the {magic_link} merge tag in emails

The EDD, WooCommerce Subscriptions, and bbPress integrations work on the {magic_link} placeholder. Add {magic_link} to the relevant email template and it is replaced with a working login link for that recipient.

If you do not add the placeholder, those emails are left exactly as they are. This is deliberate — the integration never changes an email you did not ask it to change.
