Integrations

Magic Link for MemberPress

Magic Link integrates with MemberPress by adding passwordless login links to supported MemberPress emails and the transaction-completed flow.

PRO feature

This integration is part of Magic Link PRO. The integration stays inactive unless the corresponding third-party plugin is installed and detected.

What the integration does

The integration adds Magic Link to the supported third-party email or activity flow without replacing the plugin's normal behavior.

Magic Link integration

Enable the integration

  1. Install and activate MemberPress.
  2. Install and activate Magic Link PRO.
  3. Go to Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.
  4. Find MemberPress and enable it.
  5. Save the settings.

The integration only activates when MemberPress is detected. If MemberPress is not installed, its integration remains inactive.

Test the integration

  1. Use a real WordPress account that can receive the relevant MemberPress email.
  2. Trigger the MemberPress event that sends the supported notification.
  3. Check the email.
  4. Confirm the Magic Link is present where the integration provides it.
  5. Click the link and confirm WordPress signs you into the expected account.

Important details

  • The user must have a WordPress account when the integration expects an existing recipient.
  • Magic Link's normal expiry and usage rules still apply.
  • The third-party plugin continues to control when its own emails or events are generated.
  • Turning the integration off stops Magic Link from modifying the supported flow; it does not disable MemberPress.

Troubleshooting

The integration is not listed. Confirm MemberPress is installed and active, then reload Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.

The email does not contain a Magic Link. For form-builder integrations, confirm the form is selected and {magic-link} is present in the notification. For automatic integrations, confirm you triggered a supported notification.

The link does not log the user in. Check that the recipient is a WordPress user and that the link has not expired or reached its usage limit. The Audit Log can help identify what happened.

Conclusion

The MemberPress integration adds passwordless access without replacing the normal MemberPress workflow. Enable it under Magic Link → Settings → Integrations, test the supported email or event, and keep your normal Magic Link expiry and security settings in place.

No. A Magic Link provides passwordless authentication for the supported flow; it does not reset or replace the user's WordPress password.
