Integrations
Magic Link for bbPress
Magic Link integrates with bbPress subscription emails. Forum and topic subscription messages can include a passwordless login link.
PRO feature
This integration is part of Magic Link PRO. The integration stays inactive unless the corresponding third-party plugin is installed and detected.
What the integration does
The integration adds Magic Link to the supported third-party email or activity flow without replacing the plugin's normal behavior.

Enable the integration
- Install and activate bbPress.
- Install and activate Magic Link PRO.
- Go to Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.
- Find bbPress and enable it.
- Save the settings.
The integration only activates when bbPress is detected. If bbPress is not installed, its integration remains inactive.
Test the integration
- Use a real WordPress account that can receive the relevant bbPress email.
- Trigger the bbPress event that sends the supported notification.
- Check the email.
- Confirm the Magic Link is present where the integration provides it.
- Click the link and confirm WordPress signs you into the expected account.
Important details
- The user must have a WordPress account when the integration expects an existing recipient.
- Magic Link's normal expiry and usage rules still apply.
- The third-party plugin continues to control when its own emails or events are generated.
- Turning the integration off stops Magic Link from modifying the supported flow; it does not disable bbPress.
Troubleshooting
The integration is not listed. Confirm bbPress is installed and active, then reload Magic Link → Settings → Integrations.
The email does not contain a Magic Link. For form-builder integrations, confirm the form is selected and {magic-link} is present in the notification. For automatic integrations, confirm you triggered a supported notification.
The link does not log the user in. Check that the recipient is a WordPress user and that the link has not expired or reached its usage limit. The Audit Log can help identify what happened.
Conclusion
The bbPress integration adds passwordless access without replacing the normal bbPress workflow. Enable it under Magic Link → Settings → Integrations, test the supported email or event, and keep your normal Magic Link expiry and security settings in place.
FAQs

Does the Magic Link change the user's password?
