How to Track bbPress Forum Activity with Logify
When a topic is suddenly closed, a reply disappears, or a forum's status changes and no moderator will own up to it, you need a record of what happened. Logify PRO adds a forum-aware activity history to bbPress, logging supported actions on forums, topics, and replies — created, updated, trashed, restored, deleted, opened, closed, stickied, spammed, moved, merged, and more — each with the user and time attached. The integration turns itself on automatically when bbPress is active.

What the bbPress integration records
bbPress runs your forums, topics, and replies; Logify PRO records supported actions performed on them under the bbpress event type. Each entry uses forum terminology — Forum, Topic, Reply, Opened, Closed, Stickied, Spam — so activity reads clearly instead of appearing as generic "post" changes, and it names the user who performed the action.
Why forum logging is helpful
A busy community can change fast, and moderation actions are easy to lose track of when several people share the work. A central activity history answers the questions that otherwise turn into guesswork:
- Who created or edited this forum, and when did its status change?
- Who closed, stickied, or reopened this topic?
- Who marked a topic or reply as spam?
- What happened to a reply that is no longer there — was it trashed, moved, or deleted, and by whom?

How to review bbPress activity
There is no need to create activity records by hand — supported actions are logged automatically.
Step 1: Confirm bbPress and Logify PRO are active
Your site needs bbPress installed and active, and Logify PRO active. The integration loads on its own once both are present.
Step 2: Use your forum normally
Moderators keep working as usual — creating a forum, editing a topic, opening or closing it, stickying it, marking spam, or moving and restoring content. Each supported action is recorded as it happens.
Step 3: Open the activity log
Go to Logify > Activity Logs in your WordPress dashboard. bbPress events appear in the list alongside every other event.
Step 4: Filter to forum activity
Set the Event Type filter to bbpress to see only forum activity, then combine it with the user, severity, or date filters to find a specific action. See Filter WordPress activity logs.
Step 5: Open an entry for the detail
Each entry can show the date and time, the user who performed the action, the bbPress activity type, the forum, topic, or reply involved, and a human-readable description of what happened.
Example: finding out who closed a topic
Suppose a popular discussion is suddenly closed. Instead of asking every moderator:
- Open Logify > Activity Logs.
- Filter the Event Type to bbpress and search the topic title.
- Find the topic-closed entry and check the date and time.
- Check which user performed the action.
- Open View Details for more information.
For a community with several moderators, the history can reveal a full timeline for one discussion — opened, stickied, unstickied, marked as spam, unmarked, and finally closed — so you can see exactly how it was handled.

Yes. This is a bbPress-specific integration, so it only records activity on sites running bbPress. If bbPress is not installed and active, no forum events are logged and the bbpress event type will not appear in your filters. You still get Logify's full logging for the rest of WordPress.
Does Logify record every possible bbPress action?
No. Logify records the actions its bbPress integration supports — the forum, topic, and reply events listed above. bbPress has many possible actions and configurations, so if you perform an action and no entry appears, it may not be a supported activity. Confirm the action is on the supported list before troubleshooting further.
Why should I use bbPress logs instead of the normal WordPress post logs?
Because they speak in forum terms. A normal WordPress log tells you a post or content item changed; the bbPress integration labels the same activity as Forum, Topic, or Reply and uses moderation verbs like Opened, Closed, Stickied, and Marked as spam. That makes forum activity far easier to read for the people managing a community.
Can I see who closed or deleted a topic?
Yes, for supported actions. Each entry records the user associated with the action along with the date and time, so a closed, trashed, restored, or spammed topic shows who did it and when. Open View Details on the entry for the forum, topic, or reply involved and a description of what happened.
What if a bbPress action does not appear in the log?
Check that bbPress and Logify PRO are both active, that the action is one of the supported activities, and that your Activity Logs filters are not hiding the bbpress event type. Refresh the screen and repeat the action on a test forum or topic if needed. If it still does not appear, contact support with your Logify and bbPress versions.
